As students at KS5 start exploring universities and entrance requirements, they will need industry professionals to support their studies. Staff who have intricate knowledge of the areas they will be teaching.

At Key stage 5, the learning needs of students studying Maths, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Computer Science/ICT and Business Studies will be met through series of lessons that match exam board requirements. Students will engage in exam question strategies and techniques from the outset to ensure that their exam confidence and success is secured.

Key Stage 4 GCSE. Age 13 to 16

At key stage 4, we will cater to the needs of students aged 13 to 16, in years 10 and 11 of school.

KS4 is one of the most stressful times of study for any student. The pressures of exams looming means there is a huge amount of anxiety. We will take the stress out of students by ensuring we teach exam specific concepts in specialised subjects so that students obtain the results they need.

Lessons will be taught to meet every exam board specifications and will be designed to incorporate exam question practice. Lessons will pay particular attention to exam question techniques and strategies to ensure students achieve the best grades possible.

Year groups 7 - 9. Age 11 to 13

At key stage 3, we cater to the needs of students aged 11 to 13, in years 7 to 9 of school.

KS3 is one of the most vital years of high school study as it paves the success to gaining anadvantageousstart to students GCSE studies. This start can springleap pupils into their desired subjects of study at KS4.

Lessons in KS3 focus on the core subjects of English Literature, English Language, Calculator and non-calculator Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. These studies in particular are renowed to develop learning to the highest standard and secure mastery of numeracy, literacy and investigative techniques to early GCSE standards.

11+ Entrance Examinations

The 11+ is a selective entrance examination for secondary school, used by both state-funded grammar schools and many private schools to identify the most academically-able children.

The exam is taken towards the end of Year 5 or beginning of Year 6 of primary school. Success in 11+ tests is most likely where students are well prepared, both academically and in terms of their exam technique.

Subject knowledge and skills ideally are developed form year 3 onwards in English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning and Non-verbal reasoning. As students move into year 4 exam techniques is improved and in year 5 the strategies needed to be successful in timed conditions are focussed on in these four areas.

Year groups 3 - 6. Age 7-11

At key stage 2, we cater to the needs of students aged 7 to 11 and in years 3 to 6 of school. The core subjects of English, Maths and Science will be taught with a particular focus to ensure students are successful in year 6 assessments.

There will also be a particular focus on ensuring pupils obtaining the necessary skills to pass the various Grammar School tests for a successful start in a secondary school of their choosing.

Year groups 1 and 2. Age 5-7 years.

At key stage 1, we cater to the needs of students aged 5 to 7, and in years 1 and 2 of school. Lessons will be tailored to build the foundations of learning in the core subjects of English, Maths and Science.

The aim of the KS1 curriculum is to promote the highest levels of literacy and numeracy to ensure that younger pupils are prepared for KS2 and 11+ studies which will be commencing in year 3.
